Our Story
Foster Lawn Solutions was founded after Franklin saw a need for a more personalized approach to lawn care. With 13 years of experience in the green industry, Franklin believed he could set out to use his knowledge and experience to provide an exceptional lawn care experience for his local community.
Where it started
I began attending the University of Minnesota in the fall of 2010. I started down my horticulture path as a means of aligning a potential career with my love of golf. With a connection to a local golf course, I applied for a summer maintenance position, and that college summer job catapulted my love of golf to a passion for the turf work and the science behind it. I continued down this path through my undergraduate years, studying horticulture and turfgrass science at the University of Minnesota; working golf maintenance in the summers; joining the turfgrass science staff at the U of M research grounds; and serving as the president of my local turf club. Following college, I moved into the commercial landscape industry, then later moved into the residential and commercial lawn care industry. In each space as I’ve continued to learn and gain experience, my attention to detail and love of transforming spaces has made my work truly become my calling.
Where we are now
I started this company to use my passion for turfgrass to help you build the lawn of your dreams, whatever that dream entails. My aim is to harness my knowledge and experience to provide a service of high value, which means more than just quickly applying the cheapest fertilizer or weed control. I build my programs to apply the highest quality products at optimized timings, and I incorporate cultural practices that may otherwise get overlooked. I believe in following the science and am committed to educating myself and my clients. Do you need a safe space for your kids or grandkids to play? Maybe your furry friend? Or it could be wanting to have the best looking lawn on the block. Whatever the reason, I’m here to help.
